Commercial Bar Association of Victoria

The commercial bar association of Victoria (Commbar) is the representative body for commercial barristers at the Victorian Bar in Australia.

Their website functions as a portal for those barristers, allowing them to display a profile of their experience and contact details so that anyone looking for a barrister in Victoria is able to search through the website to find them.

The original website was built around old ASP technology which was failing them on many counts and seriously hindering the development of the business as a whole. The association needed a functional website that was easy to manage and future proof, so they turned to TR8 Media.

TR8 Media were commissioned to re-design and re-develop the existing structure in order to simplify the content management system and integrate the website with a database of barristers from the Victoria Bar Association.

We developed and programmed a custom website based around a Joomla content management system (CMS) to allow an API call to import new barristers from the Victoria Bar Association. We created custom components for displaying and searching the profiles or barristers and developed a custom coded profile area with many different user role levels.

The new website is easily managed by the Commbar admin and they now have full control over membership options and content.
